We believe community is our strongest resource. We want invite people working at the Asterisk to connect with each other to develop relationships that are generative, collaborative and nourishing.

We invite anyone who is using liberatory approaches to how they engage in their work. You don't have to work for a philanthropy or run social justice campaigns to be a liberation worker. Maybe you incorporate reparations into your business approach, or use radical sliding scale pricing to respond to economic disparities. Perhaps you center systemically oppressed communities in your work, or are trying to develop ways to disrupt capitalism. We're eager to build a community of people who are doing bringing liberatory practices to the work they do.

You don't have to be a professional artist to be a creative! Maybe you're an accountant who paints portraits on the side. Or perhaps you're a comic book writer in your off-hours and you copy-edit text books to pay the bills. Our goal is to provide opportunities for people to bring their whole selves--their creative, imaginative, musical, dramatic and colorful selves--to their workplace.

Healing is what we do to the body, mind and spirit to respond to the complex harm and traumas we experience in our daily and historical lives. Therapists, curanderes, hypnotists, astrologers, body workers, yogis, somatics practioners, conflict resolution specialists--if you are responding to harm and offering relief, peace and sustainable practices, then we'd love to welcome you!
